Sheffield Wednesday are in the early days of a new direction.

Newly appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Challinor has called on his players to take personal ownership and responsibility on the pitch. Challinor, who replaced the dismissed Henrik Pedersen, arrived alongside coaches Clint Hill and Tony Sweeney following a mixed start to the club's season under owners Arise.
Speaking ahead of his first match against Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup, Challinor stressed that senior players must guide younger teammates. He highlighted the importance of experienced figures such as Barry Bannan and Joe Lumley to set standards and make key on-pitch decisions.
