Robbie Savage earned a 4-1 victory against Ipswich Town Under-21s in his first match as Peterborough United manager in the Jersey Mike's Trophy. Appointed after leaving Forest Green Rovers, Savage watched his team score four first-half goals in ten minutes, including a brace from Harry Leonard. The victory secured Peterborough's place in the tournament's round of 32.
The result also sent holders Luton Town through to the knockout phase. Elsewhere, new Bradford City manager Michael Duff watched his new side defeat Rotherham United 4-0, while Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, and Wycombe Wanderers also claimed decisive group victories.
