Breaking: Sheffield Wednesday appoint new manager…

Sheffield Wednesday have appointed Dave Challinor as their new first-team manager following an agreement reached on Saturday night. The 51-year-old former Stockport County boss replaces Henrik Pedersen, who was dismissed a week earlier. Challinor is scheduled to attend Sunday's League One clash against Blackpool at Hillsborough before being formally introduced on Monday.
The appointment reunites Challinor with Wednesday's sporting director Simon Wilson, whom he worked alongside during a successful tenure at Stockport County. Challinor represents the first managerial hire by ownership group Arise since their May takeover. His first match in charge is expected to be an FA Cup first-round tie against Oldham Athletic.
