Dave Challinor has emerged as the favorite to become the new manager of Sheffield Wednesday following the departure of Henrik Pedersen. Challinor has been available since leaving Stockport County in June and has previous working ties with Wednesday's sporting director, Simon Wilson. Notts County manager Martin Paterson is also under consideration for the vacant post.

Pedersen was dismissed on Sunday after a 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers left the club ninth in League One.
