The Story in 60 Seconds

Duncan Ferguson has acknowledged that his initial honeymoon period as the new manager of Glentoran will quickly end if the team fails to deliver results. The former Everton and Scotland striker was appointed to the Oval job this week and is set to make his touchline debut on Saturday against Ballymena United. Ferguson noted that while current optimism is high, the demanding club expects immediate success.

Speaking on the Overlap Daily, Ferguson described the club as roughly the fourth best team in the league, noting Glentoran has not won the title in nearly two decades. Having spent two years away from coaching following previous managerial roles at Forest Green Rovers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ferguson stated that his enduring passion for coaching drove him to seize the opportunity.
