Neil Lennon has questioned whether football managers are receiving enough mental health support as they strive to deliver results while dealing with criticism, abuse and the ever-present threat of being sacked…

Dunfermline manager Neil Lennon has expressed concern over whether football managers receive adequate mental health support while handling intense public scrutiny and dismissal threats. Speaking on the Unmasked podcast, the former Celtic and Hibernian manager highlighted that while player support services have significantly advanced over the last two decades, managers are often left without equivalent institutional care from clubs.
Lennon noted that manager welfare in Scotland largely depends on an individual's personal relationship with club executives. Reflecting on advice from his former mentor Martin O'Neill, Lennon accepted that dismissals are inevitable in modern management, emphasizing that developing a healthy work-life balance has been crucial to maintaining his own wellbeing.
