A leading owner in Czechia has told why he swerved investment in Scots clubs
Slovan Liberec owner Ondrej Kania has described the infrastructure at smaller Scottish clubs as disastrous after considering a potential takeover. Speaking on the Fotbal Netradičně podcast, the Czech businessman revealed he looked into purchasing teams in the lower half of the Scottish Premiership or the Scottish Championship before deciding against an investment.
Kania explained that despite the attractive purchase prices, renovating stadiums and building training facilities would require a fortune. He calculated that the total expenses would rival the acquisition costs of top Czech sides like Slavia Prague or Sparta Prague, making an investment in a smaller Scottish club financially impractical.
