Anthony Gordon says ‘if you’re not smart, you’re going to stand out like a sore thumb’ at Barcelona

Anthony Gordon expressed that he feels more appreciated as a player after completing a summer transfer from Newcastle United to Barcelona. Speaking to ITV Sport, the England international stated that playing in Spain highlights his football IQ and technical quality, whereas he felt observers in England primarily viewed him for his pace and pressing abilities.

Since joining Hansi Flick's Barcelona squad, Gordon has recorded four assists and recently scored for England against Spain in the Nations League. Gordon noted that he intentionally wanted to leave the Premier League for a new experience, and he will continue international duty against Czechia and Croatia before returning to club action.
