The Story in 60 Seconds

FC Barcelona achieved a key milestone in their Camp Nou redevelopment after workers installed the final section of the 360-degree steel compression ring. Located above the third tier, the ring will support the stadium's future roof. The structure consists of 123 steel box sections resting on 46 pillars, creating a cable-supported tensile roof design without view-blocking interior columns.

The upcoming roof lift will temporarily require manager Hansi Flick's squad to return to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium for several months. Barcelona recently approved €510 million in additional financing for the project, with club officials targeting a return to Camp Nou in January 2028 before total completion later that year.
