Hansi Flick talks signing a new center-back and Barcelona’s defensive problems

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick addressed the club's defensive problems and the possibility of signing a new center-back during the January transfer window. Speaking in a press conference following defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, Flick confirmed that he has discussed potential defensive reinforcements with sporting director Deco, Bojan Krkic, and his coaching staff.

Flick explained that defensive responsibilities extend beyond the backline to the entire squad, citing cheap possession losses in El Clásico as a major concern. Writer Renato Gonçalves expressed skepticism about the club's ability to secure a world-class center-back, though he noted Flick and Deco's clear intention to fix the issue.
