Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany collapsed during an under-23 training session on Friday afternoon and was airlifted to a Munich hospital. Emergency services were immediately called, and Bayern Munich later confirmed that Kompany is in stable condition while remaining hospitalized for extensive medical examinations. His coaching staff will take over training and match duties in the interim.
Kompany had been weakened by a viral infection in recent days, which reportedly caused hip issues and mobility problems. Following Bayern Munich's recent draw against Arsenal, Kompany had admitted to not listening to his body after catching the virus. Bayern board member Max Eberl stated that Kompany's health remains the club's top priority.
