Chelsea announced on Friday that club captain Reece James has undergone successful minor knee surgery following an injury sustained in training. The 26-year-old English defender was already sidelined for the club's 5-1 victory against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge prior to undergoing medical evaluations that determined surgery was necessary.
While Chelsea confirmed James has begun his rehabilitation at the Cobham training ground without complications, the club did not state an official timeline for his return. According to Sky Sports, the right-back is expected to be sidelined for three months.
