David Kogan, chairman of the Independent Football Regulator (IFR), has stated he will resign if he faces political pressure regarding the Manchester City case. Speaking to the BBC, Kogan emphasized that the regulatory body's independence is central to its mission and asserted that no politician has attempted to influence their decisions.
The warning follows reports of potential political interference, including claims that British Prime Minister Andy Burnham dined twice with Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak. Manchester City is appealing a ruling that found the club guilty of 114 financial irregularity charges, while the IFR retains the authority to assess owner and director suitability.
