San Diego Wave FC has proposed building a new soccer stadium and mixed-use development across a 324-acre site in Del Mar. The NWSL franchise aims to construct a 12,000 to 16,000-seat venue, seeking to relocate from its shared tenancy at Snapdragon Stadium where ownership reported frustration over scheduling priority.
The project, dubbed 'Del Mar Dreams,' includes a hotel, convention center, retail space, parking garage, and a tram line. The Wave has requested a two-year negotiation window to acquire the land, targeting completion before its Snapdragon Stadium lease expires in 2031.
