BRIGHTON, England (AP) — Diego Gomez did a Beckham.Collecting the ball near the halfway line, the Brighton midfielder advanced just into Crystal Palace's half and launched the ball over goalkeeper Walter Benitez and into the net for a spectacular goal…

Diego Gomez scored a spectacular goal from the halfway line to help Brighton & Hove Albion secure a dominant 5-0 victory over rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Paraguay international spotted the opposing goalkeeper off his line and executed a precise 51-meter lob, evoking memories of David Beckham's famous strike.
The long-range wondergoal came during a blistering start in which Brighton scored three times in the opening 10 minutes at the Amex Stadium. Jack Hinshelwood also scored on his return to Premier League action, with the win lifting Brighton up to second place in the Premier League table.
