The Story in 60 Seconds

The United States could potentially host the 2028 Copa América, which would add another major international football tournament to its upcoming schedule. Although hosting rights have not yet been officially confirmed, this would mark the third time since 2016 that the tournament is held on American soil.

The 2028 edition is also reportedly considering an expanded 20-team format featuring all 10 CONMEBOL teams, six CONCACAF nations, and four non-UEFA guest teams.
