Frenchman Olivier Giroud played for Los Angeles FC during his time in the United States of America.

Former France striker Olivier Giroud criticized Major League Soccer following his stint with Los Angeles FC, stating that the United States is not a football country. Speaking to Ligue1+, the 40-year-old forward revealed that American soccer was not for him because he missed the passion, fervor, and competitive atmosphere of European stadiums. Giroud scored five goals in 38 appearances across all competitions for LAFC before departing.
Giroud left LAFC in the summer of 2025 to return to European football with French club Lille, where he has since scored 12 goals in 50 matches. In an interview with L'Equipe, the veteran striker announced that the current campaign will most likely be his final season as an active player.
