Mikel Merino has owned up to being the player who injured Martin Zubimendi during last week's post-match warm-down, but he insists his fellow midfielder is alright now.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino admitted to causing Martin Zubimendi's recent ankle injury during a post-match warm-down following the match against Leeds United. The freak training accident forced Zubimendi to miss the midweek Champions League game against Lille OSC, but Merino insisted the issue is minor and that his teammate is already recovering well.
Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Zubimendi is improving quickly and remains in contention for Sunday's Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest. Zubimendi's return would provide key midfield depth for Arsenal, especially with defender Piero Hincapie sidelined longer term after also suffering an injury during the same training session.
