Granit Xhaka suggested last month that his tactical suggestion was a big factor in Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso's success with Bayer Leverkusen.

Former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka revealed that his tactical input influenced manager Xabi Alonso to abandon a back four at Bayer Leverkusen. Xhaka recounted advising Alonso after a preseason friendly against Real Sociedad that the squad lacked the personnel for a four-man defense, prompting a system change that ultimately led to an unbeaten Bundesliga title and German Cup victory.
The resurfaced comments come amid Chelsea's difficult start under Alonso, having recorded four wins, one draw, and three losses in their opening eight Premier League fixtures. Alonso reportedly attempted to sign Xhaka over the summer, but Sunderland rejected Chelsea's bid.
