Michael Carrick says he is ready to "move forward" with Bruno Fernandes as Man Utd captain.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick confirmed Bruno Fernandes remains club captain and stated he does not need assurances regarding his own future. Fernandes was benched for Sunday's 3-0 loss to Bournemouth after publicly criticising Carrick's tactics following a Champions League defeat to Como. Following clear-the-air talks, Carrick affirmed his backing for the midfielder ahead of Saturday's match against Chelsea.
Carrick remains under pressure amid the club's worst-ever start to a Premier League season. Despite discussions between chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, Carrick insisted he understands the responsibilities of his role and remains focused entirely on upcoming fixtures.
