How Xabi Alonso has turned around Pedro Neto’s Chelsea fortunes

Connor Johnson writes that Xabi Alonso has revitalized Pedro Neto's Chelsea career, establishing him as a crucial player after he signed a contract extension until 2032. Neto's resurgence was highlighted by scoring both goals in Chelsea's 2-0 victory against Everton, stepping up when Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers failed to find the net.

Despite summer transfer interest from Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool failing to meet Chelsea's £100 million valuation, Neto has excelled under Alonso. The manager praised the Portuguese international's tactical versatility and competitive edge across various positions, ranging from wing-back to forward in Alonso's three-at-the-back system.
