Coventry City ‘looking at’ transfer for £4.1m teen who is already a ‘relatively complete midfielder’

Coventry City are reportedly among numerous European clubs monitoring Häcken midfielder Doumbia ahead of a potential permanent transfer. According to Fotbollskanalen, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast youth prospect carries a rumoured fee of around €5 million (£4.18m). Trabzonspor are reportedly preparing a formal bid, while Premier League sides Sunderland and Everton, alongside several other European outfits, have also been credited with interest.

Doumbia, who joined Häcken from ASEC Mimosas and is under contract until 2030, has impressed in the Swedish Allsvenskan this season. Häcken manager Jens Gustafsson praised him as a relatively complete midfielder for his defensive coverage and pressing. Coventry manager Frank Lampard is reportedly seeking further central midfield options to complement young summer arrival Caleb Yirenkyi.
