Coventry City wanted player in summer – Manager now delighted transfer didn’t happen

Coventry City explored a permanent transfer for Porto left-back Francisco Moura during the summer transfer window, but a deal failed to materialize. Porto had reportedly valued the 27-year-old at around €10m (£8.6m), with Olympiacos and Hamburg also showing interest before Moura ultimately remained in Portugal.

Porto manager Francesco Farioli expressed delight that Moura stayed, stating after a 2-1 win over Moreirense that he strongly believes in the defender. Moura has since featured in four consecutive matches, completing a turnaround in form after experiencing a difficult end to the previous campaign.
