Key Everton figures know James Tarkowski’s worth amid Chelsea transfer ‘whisper’

The Liverpool Echo reports that Everton have no interest in selling club captain James Tarkowski despite rumors linking the defender to Chelsea. Chelsea podcaster Simon Phillips mentioned hearing a faint whisper regarding the 33-year-old center-back, but clarified that no official interest has been confirmed. Writer Chris Beesley doubts Tarkowski will leave, emphasizing the player's vital role in David Moyes' squad at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Moyes previously attempted to sign Tarkowski for West Ham in 2020 and considers him essential alongside Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford. Amid ongoing ownership developments under The Friedkin Group, Moyes stated he has no intentions of selling any key squad members during the upcoming January transfer window.
