Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle spoke after being beaten by Everton for the second time in five days…

Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle admitted his side failed to make things stressful for Everton following their 1-0 defeat at St James' Park. The loss marked Newcastle's second defeat to David Moyes' team in five days, following a 3-1 Carabao Cup exit. Jaissle acknowledged the growing frustration among the home supporters and took full responsibility for his squad's lack of bravery and failure to execute the tactical plan.
Everton secured the victory courtesy of a 49th-minute tap-in from Thierno Barry after Newcastle goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek spilled a strike by Tyrique George. The result lifted Everton up to seventh place in the Premier League table. Jaissle lamented Newcastle's inability to break Everton's low block or generate sufficient pressure, as his odds of facing dismissal shortened dramatically.
