Everton captain Megan Finnigan discusses her long return from a 602-day ACL injury and reflects on the Women’s Super League derby defeat at Anfield.

Everton captain Megan Finnigan made her return to Women's Super League action as a substitute in a 2-0 Merseyside derby loss to Liverpool at Anfield. Her league comeback came four days after returning in a cup victory over Birmingham City, which ended a 602-day absence due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Liverpool secured the derby victory with an early goal from Beata Olsson and a late strike by Cornelia Kapocs. Finnigan described her recovery journey as a rollercoaster and acknowledged that Everton was second best on the day due to on-pitch indecision.
