Rohl is not your average footballer. He speaks to The Athletic about why he's trying to live a life 'that's a bit more conscious'
Everton player Merlin Rohl has launched a photography book titled Behind the Lens: Life with Everton, chronicling his first year on Merseyside. The 24-year-old discussed his off-pitch passions for photography and coffee, his close bond with coach Leighton Baines, and his successful positional transition to right-back.
Rohl initially joined Everton on loan from Freiburg in summer 2025 before a permanent purchase obligation was triggered in July. Proceeds from the book will benefit Everton's multi-academy trust, with Rohl aiming to depict the everyday reality of life as a professional footballer.
