Merlin Rohl reveals how two Everton figures helped him behind the scenes

Everton player Merlin Rohl revealed that teammates and club figures Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines encouraged him to take photographs in the dressing room. Rohl released a photography book documenting his first year at the club, titled Life with Everton, on October 15, 2026. The 24-year-old was initially hesitant to use his camera around his new teammates after arriving from Freiburg, but Coleman suggested it would help him settle.

Beyond photography, Rohl explained that Baines has significantly influenced his development on the pitch. After transitioning to the full-back position under manager David Moyes, Rohl has studied Baines' highlights and worked closely with him in the video room.
