Former Ipswich Town winger Kyle Edwards has completed a surprise move to non-league club Shifnal Town on a free transfer. The 28-year-old dropped five divisions to join the Northern Premier League Division One West side following his departure from Northampton Town at the end of last season. He was signed by newly appointed manager Elliott Bennett.
Edwards made his debut for Shifnal in a 4-0 home defeat against Witton Albion. Previously, he made 63 appearances and scored three goals for Ipswich, helping manager Kieran McKenna's squad earn promotion from League One during the 2022/23 campaign before later joining Oxford United.
