Ipswich Town Loan Watch: Things could be about to take off – No purchase option
Key Things to Know
  • Kayne van Oevelen could soon become Valencia's starting goalkeeper under newly appointed manager Javier Aguirre.
  • The 23-year-old goalkeeper is on a season-long loan from Ipswich Town with no purchase option included.
  • Current starter Stole Dimitrievski has faced criticism after conceding 13 goals for Valencia and 10 for North Macedonia.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen could soon earn his debut and claim the starting spot at loan club Valencia. The 23-year-old joined the La Liga side in August on a straight loan with no purchase option, but has yet to make an appearance. However, the appointment of manager Javier Aguirre alongside the poor form of current starter Stole Dimitrievski may create an opening for the Dutchman.

Aguirre was reportedly impressed with Van Oevelen during international break training sessions, while Dimitrievski conceded 10 goals in four appearances for North Macedonia. Van Oevelen is in contention to make his debut against Tavernes on October 28. If he does not secure regular minutes at Mestalla, Ipswich Town could consider terminating the loan in January and sending him elsewhere.
