The Story in 60 Seconds

Ipswich Town striker Ali Al-Hamadi is set to play under a new manager at Sheffield Wednesday following the sacking of Henrik Pedersen. The League One club dismissed Pedersen after fewer than 15 months in charge and back-to-back league defeats. Matt Hamshaw has stepped in as interim head coach while the club begins the process of appointing a permanent replacement.

Al-Hamadi joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan in August after a proposed move to Polish club Rakow Czestochowa fell through due to a medical issue. The Iraqi international forward has not scored in his first eight appearances for the Owls, having previously experienced an injury-affected loan spell at Luton Town.
