Liverpool came from behind to defeat Brentford 2-1 in west London on Saturday in a game which saw the home side finish with nine players. Yehor Yarmoluk was given a straight red card just before half-time for headbutting Jeremy Jacquet…

Sky Sports pundit Jay Bothroyd criticized the length of time taken by VAR to send off Brentford's Yehor Yarmoluk during Liverpool's 2-1 victory. Yarmoluk received a straight red card from referee John Brooks for headbutting Jeremy Jacquet just before half-time. Although Bothroyd agreed with the eventual dismissal, he expressed frustration that the review took three minutes despite describing the violent conduct as an obvious red card within five seconds.
Brentford ended the match with nine men after Vitaly Janelt was also dismissed late following a second yellow card for a foul on Rio Ngumoha. The Empire of The Kop argues that football's lawmakers should introduce time limits on VAR reviews, claiming clear and obvious infractions should be decided within 45 seconds rather than causing extensive delays for fans and players.
