Report: Atletico Madrid preparing move for Liverpool midfielder

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister next summer. According to a report from Esto Es Atleti, the Spanish club is preparing to make a strong permanent transfer offer if Liverpool fails to present the 27-year-old Argentina international with a compelling contract extension.

Liverpool recently extended the deals of fellow midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch, leaving Mac Allister without a new offer despite his contract running through 2028. Atletico previously made an unsuccessful attempt to sign him, but could renew their pursuit under sporting director Julian Ward's tenure if contract negotiations stall.
