Liverpool have spent big in recent windows but there is an opportunity to do a bargain deal…
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Atletico Madrid utility player Marcos Llorente as a potential free transfer target to bolster their right-back and midfield options. According to a report cited from Fichajes, manager Andoni Iraola and club decision-makers are considering the 31-year-old Spain international, whose current contract status could allow him to negotiate with foreign clubs from January.
Llorente is currently in contract extension talks with Atletico Madrid, but Liverpool face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City. The versatile 2026 World Cup winner is capable of playing both in central midfield and at full-back, and he has previously scored five goals at Anfield against the Merseyside club.
