Report: Liverpool Midfielder given ultimatum amid contract standoff

Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward faces an early contract decision regarding midfielder Alexis Mac Allister ahead of the winter transfer window. According to a report from Football Insider, the Argentine midfielder has been informed that he must prove he deserves an extension, having expressed disappointment when no new deal was offered over the summer.

While teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai recently extended their stays, Liverpool reportedly do not view extending Mac Allister as an immediate priority since his existing contract runs until 2028. However, strong performances under manager Andoni Iraola could place the 27-year-old in contention for fresh terms.
