Liverpool are making moves to sign an exciting midfielder.
Liverpool are reportedly exploring a move for Barcelona defensive midfielder Marc Bernal ahead of the January transfer window. Journalist Juan Jesus reports that the Reds are very interested in signing the Spanish youngster, with sporting director Julian Ward now leading the club's football operations and targeting reinforcements in central midfield.
According to writer Bence Bocsak, Liverpool lack a natural holding midfielder in the mould of Fabinho to provide defensive discipline. Bernal reportedly seeks regular playing time that Barcelona cannot guarantee, and solid relations between the two clubs could help facilitate a permanent deal.
