€80 million feels like a lot of money for this midfielder.
Liverpool would need to trigger an €80 million release clause to sign 25-year-old midfielder Sergi Altimira from Sporting CP, according to reports from CNN Portugal via Leonino. Liverpool officials are reportedly monitoring the Spaniard closely as an option to strengthen their midfield, though no formal offer has been submitted for a permanent transfer.
Altimira joined Sporting from Real Betis last summer for around €22 million including add-ons and quickly became a key player under manager Rui Borges. Anfield Watch writer Zak Anderton notes that spending €80 million would be a significant commitment, comparing the potential move to past Liga Portugal signings Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
