Liverpool are sticking to a controversial plan. The mounting pressure to change tact isn't going to sway them, either.
Liverpool are reportedly maintaining their stance of not rushing into contract renewal talks with midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, despite growing external pressure. According to The Telegraph, the club remains in no rush to extend the Argentine's deal, which is entering its final 18 months, even after he reportedly requested new terms.
Writer Alex Caple questions this strategy, noting that Liverpool previously handed lucrative long-term deals to fellow midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai. Despite Mac Allister scoring twice against Villarreal, Caple suggests the club could still look to replace him.
