Steven Gerrard unveils multi-million pound plan ‘to give something back’ to Liverpool

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has unveiled a multi-million pound investment to develop new sports and educational facilities across Merseyside. The initiative will introduce six new 3G football pitches and up to 16 padel courts across sites in Childwall and Huyton, with Gerrard making a significant personal financial contribution alongside partners including the Lydiate Learning Trust and Knowsley Council.

The project aims to establish what is believed to be the UK's first school padel academy at Childwall Sports and Science Academy, alongside transforming the King George V Playing Fields in Huyton. Pre-application planning documents will soon be submitted to local councils and the Department for Education through Gerrard's venture Box to Box and The Steven Gerrard Academy.
