Airline Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA used an image during the World Cup of a plane with Haaland's hair edited onto it, and the forward has failed to see the funny side of things.

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is taking Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA to court over an advertisement featuring his signature ponytail haircut. The airline shared an image during the World Cup showing an airplane edited with the striker's hairstyle, prompting allegations of a Marketing Act violation. A preliminary meeting between the judge and lawyers is scheduled for October 9, 2026.
Haaland's lawyer, Thomas Hagen, stated the lawsuit targets the unauthorized use of the player's distinguishing features to promote airline tickets. In response, airline spokesperson Catharina Solli expressed confusion over the legal action, explaining that the now-deleted post was intended as spontaneous support for Norway's national team during the tournament.
