Manchester City return to the Champions League on Wednesday night to face Paris Saint-Germain

Former Ballon d'Or winner George Weah previously revealed he left Manchester City because he felt disrespected and used as a publicity stunt. Weah joined newly promoted City under manager Joe Royle in August 2000 on a two-year contract, but abruptly departed after just two months and nine appearances.
Weah claimed the club lacked communication and treated him poorly, stating his signing was merely intended to attract other big names. After leaving City, Weah played for Marseille and Al Jazira before later serving as president of Liberia from 2018 until 2024.
