‘I was there for Michael Carrick’s passionate Man United speech – one thing is clear’

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick opened his Friday press conference with an unprompted, five-minute speech acknowledging recent poor results and vowing to turn the team's form around. Addressing media at Carrington ahead of United's match against Bournemouth, Carrick accepted responsibility for the club's struggles following a defeat against Como, emphasizing that nobody at the club is entitled to win.

Steven Railston views Carrick's address as a bold demonstration of leadership amidst intense scrutiny regarding his managerial future. The speech also directly contrasted recent comments from Bruno Fernandes, with Carrick arguing that players must uphold the club's historical values of humility and resilience.
