Man United latest: Michael Carrick makes rare move as two rivals speak on replacing him

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick delivered an unconventional six-minute opening statement before taking questions ahead of his team's Premier League clash against Bournemouth. Facing severe pressure following a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como and a poor domestic run of just one win in seven league games, Carrick urged his players to prioritize the club and rediscover the hard work and humility exemplified by past legends.

Meanwhile, potential managerial candidates Fabian Hurzeler and Antonio Conte addressed rumors linking them to the Old Trafford post. Brighton manager Hurzeler dismissed the speculation, reaffirming his focus on his current role and expressing respect for Carrick. Conte published a statement on Instagram denying that negotiations were at an advanced stage and refuting reports regarding his alleged financial and control demands.
