Manchester United are considering a move for Jean-Philippe Mateta as they seek a new striker, facing competition from Nottingham Forest and European clubs.

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta reportedly prefers to remain in the Premier League, handing Manchester United an advantage ahead of the January transfer window. According to a report cited from TEAMtalk, the 29-year-old French forward is drawing interest from European and Saudi Pro League sides, but his desire to stay in England narrows down his potential destinations.
Manchester United could look to secure a bargain permanent move as Mateta's contract expires in the summer of 2027. However, the Red Devils are expected to face domestic competition from Nottingham Forest, managed by Mateta's former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner.
