Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young criticise Lisandro Martinez for his public comments about Manchester United's transfer strategy after the Atletico Madrid defeat.
Wayne Rooney has criticized Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez for publicly targeting technical director Jason Wilcox following a 2-0 Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid. Speaking on Prime Video, Rooney stated that Martinez went too far and that his frustrations regarding the club's summer recruitment should have been kept internal.
Martinez appeared to criticize Wilcox after United failed to reinforce their defense or attack despite spending over £150 million on midfielders. Former teammate Ashley Young also questioned Martinez's comments, urging players to take personal responsibility on the pitch.
