Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has attracted attention during the international break

Manchester United reported that their non-current borrowings climbed to £577.6 million from £471.9 million the prior year, alongside an overall net deficit of £43 million for the 2025/26 campaign. Meanwhile, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has faced public backlash over political comments made to the BBC regarding UK immigration and benefits, prompting former club star Eric Cantona to state he would not have signed for United under Ratcliffe's ownership.
Despite the rising debt and missing out on European competition, Michael Carrick's side achieved record annual revenue of £677.6 million, lifted by an increase in broadcasting income to finish third in the Premier League. The club also recorded an operating profit of £22.6 million, even as matchday income dropped by £6.8 million.
