Real Madrid are set to activate their buy-back clause for Como defender Jacobo Ramón, ending Manchester United's hopes of signing the talented centre-back.

Manchester United's plans to pursue Como defender Jacobo Ramón have been disrupted following reports that Real Madrid intend to trigger a buy-back clause. Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Real Madrid have fully decided to activate the permanent buy-back option in 2027 for a fee under €9 million, after which they will determine whether to keep him or negotiate a transfer to the Premier League.
The Peoples Person reports that Ramón's strong performances in Serie A make him an unlikely candidate for Real Madrid to sell immediately. Writer Daniel Onguko suggests Ramón could instead serve as Antonio Rüdiger's long-term replacement in Madrid, potentially forcing Manchester United to seek alternative targets for their planned defensive rebuild.
