Manchester United's overall debt remains over £1bn despite cost-cutting measures led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to the club's latest financial figures. The club announced record revenues of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m, turning around a £113.2m loss from 2023-24 despite missing out on European competition. Additionally, United confirmed spending £63.5m to purchase land for a proposed new stadium expected to cost over £2bn.
Rising net finance costs surged by 228.3% to £69.6m, primarily attributed to foreign exchange losses. The financial report arrives amid supporter frustration over perceived underinvestment in manager Michael Carrick's squad, which saw £148m spent on Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos, and Youri Tielemans.
