Alvaro Arbeloa has been slapped with a significant fine after his post-match comments following a frustrating draw with Manchester United

Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa has been fined £25,000 by the Football Association for misconduct following comments he made about referee Peter Bankes after a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Arbeloa admitted to the charge after alleging bias in the wake of a controversial Erling Haaland goal in United's earlier fixture against Manchester City.
The penalty adds pressure to Arbeloa, whose Fulham side sits at the bottom of the Premier League table with two points from six matches following a recent late defeat to Ipswich Town. Although Arbeloa attempted to clarify his comments in a post-match press conference citing language difficulties, the governing body upheld the disciplinary action.
