Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is set to be in the squad for Sunday's trip to Leeds United after he apologised for his public outburst about the club's hierarchy.
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick confirmed Lisandro Martinez will be included in the squad to face Leeds United on Sunday. The announcement follows Martinez's public criticism of director of football Jason Wilcox over transfer investment after a 2-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid. Carrick stated the matter is settled after the defender met with club officials and apologized for his remarks.
Carrick insisted squad morale remains high despite United currently enduring a five-game winless streak. Sky Sports News reported that Martinez's long-term future at Old Trafford remains in doubt, with his contract set to expire in the summer, amid reports he sought a transfer to Atletico Madrid earlier in the year.
